Abdul Malik is the Director of  Programs and Fundraising at Islamic Ummah Relief.

Since childhood Malik has learned the importance of mentoring his younger siblings and offering them assistance when the need arises. With the concept of leadership (as an older) sibling in mind, Malik is passionate about leading projects and overseeing the projects from start to finish. One key concept that drives Malik’s motivation is that helping others is essentially a way of helping ourselves if indeed we all belong to the same global community.

Malik is a graduate of Columbia University, where he pursued his Master’s in Economics and Education. Through his coursework he learned a lot about economic policy, education and the intersection between the two areas. He is a firm believer in volunteering time and resources to assist in developing less privileged communities. During his leisure time Malik plays soccer and spends a good chunk of his free time watching sports.

Rahma is a very passionate entrepreneur and through her work on her Modest Muslim fashion she has inspired many. The hidden story is that it did not take a day to reach the current level of her brand.

Rahma’s hard work to produce something for herself has inspired her to constantly work with others to make them independent. She is always excited about IUR’s projects that empower widows, orphans and the entire community. Rahma is an organizer at heart through her work as an MSA president at her college and her community engagements.

At her leisure it is no surprise that Rahma spends time on her brand ALMA.

One morning, when Gregor Samsa woke from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin. He lay on his armour-like back, and if he lifted his head a little he could see his brown belly.
