IUR donates Eid Package to Orphanage

“Never will you attain the good [reward] until you spend [in the way of Allah ] from that which you love. And whatever you spend – indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.” -Quran 3:92

It is in this spirit that the Islamic Ummah Relief (IUR -Ghana) presented a ram, cooking oil and assorted food items and drinks to the Home of Taqwa Orphanage in Dodowa, on Thursday July 30,2020.

The donation was made on the eve of Eid ul Adha to enable the children and staff at the home enjoy and make merry during the celebration, which is a Muslim festival of sacrifice.

In true sacrificial spirit, Prophet Ibrahim whom the festival originates from, obeyed Allah’s command to offer his son Ismail as a sacrifice.

During the process of laying his only son on the altar, Allah provided him with a ram, and spared his son. Allah was pleased with Ibrahim (AS) and blessed his lineage, which included the best of creation Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), observed the tradition of sacrificing an animal on the tenth day of Zhul Hijja, which is the last month of the Islamic calendar.

Muslims all over the world celebrate this day, which is the last day of Hajj; the annual Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca, which was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic this year.

Islamic Ummah Relief is an international NGO which embarks on humanitarian activities with offices in Ghana, Nigeria, the U. S. A, Niger, and still growing to reach other countries.

Over the past year, the organization has provided several households in Northern Ghana with clean water for domestic use, as part of a project to drill mechanized boreholes in rural areas.
