IUR Helps Support 300 Head Porters (“Kayayees”) in Ghana

Islamic Ummah Relief over the weekend supported Ink Ghana event with the theme “Care for Kaya Outreach” which featured us providing care items and food to 300 market head porters (“Kayayees”) as they are popularly known in Ghana.

Our support was in two folds. Food and water for all 300 kayayees as well as volunteer support to the organizers.

These head porters leave the northern part of Ghana to the south in search of greener pastures but end up in very poor living conditions amongst many other unfortunate situations.
